My Favourite Talkshow Host

Vicki Gabereau has taped the last show of her CTV television talkshow, "Vicki Gabereau." I will miss her.

Years ago I listened to her CBC radio show almost every afternoon while puttering around the house with my two young children. I love her wacky, exuberant style and sense of humour. Her energy could life my spirits on the grayest day.

Later, in 1997 when she became a television host for CTV. I couldn’t find the time to actually sit down and watch unless I was sick or laid up with a broken leg. (that’s another story) But, back in my log house the design was open plan so even if I couldn’t see the TV I could still hear it, while I baked, cleaned or tried to write.

Since moving here we put the TV downstairs in the children’s domain. The room is decorated with their paraphernalia and because I’m rarely sick I have to make a special effort to turn it on.

Her last show will air Wednesday, April thirteenth. I’ve written the date in my day timer.
