Chinese New Year
I was born in the year of the pig. I found this out when visiting my Chinese Grandmother who lived in San Francisco. Everytime we went to visit her she gave me and my two sisters an Ang Pao, A red envelope containing money. Ang Paos are given to unmarried people, regardless of age, usually during celebrations such as Chinese New year. I suppose seeing her grandchildren was a cause for celebration.
It was at one of these get togethers, during a family meal in a chinese restaurant, that I found out I was born in the year of the pig. There are five types of pigs I'm an earth pig.
Laid back and reliable, Earth Pigs are at their happiest at home with their families. They are organized and pragmatic, preparing a strategy for every project they take on.
The Chinese New year begins Sunday February 18.
Looking at the charactoristics of Earth Pigs, it's obvious that I wasn't born one, lol.
